- Prototype low-risk automations for repetitive research, data entry, tracking, notification, or reporting tasks
- Prepare clear test cases, process diagrams, user notes, and before-and-after workflow documentation
- Review data quality, identify duplicate or incomplete records, and recommend structured corrections
- Present findings, measured results, risks, and next-step recommendations to the product and business team
What We Are Looking For

- A fast learner who combines analytical ability with emotional intelligence, humility, and clear communication
- A dependable team member who owns assigned outcomes, documents work, and closes feedback loops
- A modern thinker who experiments responsibly while respecting controls, security, and business priorities
Essential Requirements
- Current study or recent qualification in computer science, information systems, data, engineering, business analytics, or a closely related field
- Demonstrable understanding of process logic, structured data, spreadsheets, and basic software concepts
- Basic capability in Python or JavaScript, or clear evidence of equivalent automation/project work
- Practical awareness of generative AI, prompt design, hallucination risk, validation, and responsible use
- Ability to write concise English documentation and communicate progress or blockers without waiting to be chased
- A portfolio, university project, Git repository, prototype, or case study demonstrating genuine hands-on effort
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to APIs, JSON, SQL, Git, Power Automate, Make, n8n, Zapier, or comparable workflow tools
- Experience building a small AI assistant, workflow, dashboard, data tool, or business system prototype
- Understanding of product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, or business-process notation

How We Evaluate Candidates
Cygnus uses a structured, competency-based selection process. We consider qualifications and relevant experience alongside demonstrated technical capability, analytical judgment, emotional intelligence, ownership, teamwork, learning agility, communication, and performance in a role-relevant assessment.
- Portfolio and project review focused on what the candidate personally built or improved
- A short practical exercise to map a workflow and propose a safe, testable automation
- A structured discussion assessing logic, learning speed, communication, ownership, teamwork, and response to feedback
- Final evaluation based on demonstrated capability—not academic marks alone
Early-career opportunities may include a defined internship or fixed-term assignment lasting 8 to 12 weeks, subject to applicable law and written terms. Successful participants may be considered for future assignments or employment; participation does not guarantee continued engagement.
Employment or Project Information
Engagement details depend on confirmed business requirements, applicable law, work authorization, customer requirements, and final written terms. Some roles supporting government contracts may be contingent upon contract award or customer approval.
Evidence to Include
- A link or attachment showing a relevant project, prototype, code sample, workflow, or analytical case study
- A brief explanation of the problem, the candidate’s contribution, the tools used, and the outcome
- Academic transcript or qualification details only when requested at a later verification stage
- No confidential employer, client, government, or personal data should be submitted
