About the Opportunity
Build defensible sourcing and delivery solutions for government and international project requirements. The role connects supplier discovery, quotation analysis, compliance documentation, commercial judgment, and cross-border logistics from requirement receipt through delivery readiness.
What You Will Do
- Translate technical requirements, bills of materials, and delivery schedules into clear supplier RFQs
- Identify, prequalify, and document capable manufacturers, distributors, subcontractors, and logistics providers
- Prepare bid-comparison analyses covering compliance, price, lead time, warranty, origin, validity, and commercial risk
- Validate product specifications, certifications, country of origin, substitutions, and supporting documentation
- Coordinate Incoterms, freight options, export/import documents, packing, shipment milestones, and proof of delivery
- Maintain sourcing files, approval records, supplier communications, purchase-status trackers, and lessons learned
What We Are Looking For
- A commercially alert sourcing professional who verifies facts instead of relying on assumptions
- An organized owner who maintains complete records, tracks commitments, and escalates cost, schedule, or compliance risks
- A firm but respectful negotiator who can build dependable supplier relationships
- A team player who works comfortably with technical, finance, proposal, logistics, and project-delivery colleagues
Essential Requirements
- At least three years of procurement, strategic sourcing, supply-chain, or international logistics experience
- Demonstrated experience issuing RFQs, evaluating quotations, negotiating terms, and maintaining procurement records
- Strong Microsoft Excel capability for comparison models, cost analysis, tracking, and data validation
- Working knowledge of Incoterms 2020, freight documentation, lead-time management, and supplier due diligence
- Ability to read technical specifications and identify commercial or compliance exceptions before commitment
- Professional English communication and disciplined handling of confidential pricing and supplier information
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting U.S. federal, defense, public-sector, or regulated customer requirements
- Familiarity with ERP, e-procurement, inventory, supplier-management, or shipment-tracking systems
- Experience sourcing from the United States, GCC, Europe, or Asia for cross-border delivery
- Arabic capability and an established, verifiable regional supplier network
How We Evaluate Candidates
Cygnus uses a structured, competency-based selection process. We consider qualifications and relevant experience alongside demonstrated technical capability, analytical judgment, emotional intelligence, ownership, teamwork, learning agility, communication, and performance in a role-relevant assessment.
- Application review against sourcing, logistics, and documentation requirements
- A practical quotation-comparison and supplier-risk exercise using fictional data
- A structured interview covering negotiation judgment, ethics, ownership, teamwork, and delivery problem-solving
- Reference and experience verification before final selection
Employment or Project Information
Engagement details depend on confirmed business requirements, applicable law, work authorization, customer requirements, and final written terms. Some roles supporting government contracts may be contingent upon contract award or customer approval.
Evidence to Include
- A CV showing categories sourced, regions covered, and personal responsibility
- A sanitized bid-comparison, sourcing tracker, or logistics example with confidential information removed
- Examples of measurable cost, lead-time, compliance, or supplier performance improvements
- Relevant procurement, logistics, or supply-chain qualifications, where applicable
